Where Is Obama's Voice on The Troy Davis Case?

As the days get closer to the date set for the execution of Troy Davis it makes one wonder, why isn't a peep coming from The White House? If Jimmy Carter, Pope Benedict XVI, and Nobel laureate Desmond Tutu are speaking out about the planned execution of Troy Davis, then where is President Obama's voice? Where is Vice President Joe Biden's voice? Shouldn't The White House have an interest in this case? I'm just a confused voter who is wondering why The Supreme Court or the White House mention anything about Davis' clemency. This case has the WORLD watching our government stand still. Bowie State Student Dead After Roommate Fight

I saw a Twit about this incident last night and I started off my morning researching what I could about this sad incident. Two female roommates got into an argument at Bowie State University last night, one pulled out a knife, stabbed the other killing her, and now she is facing charges. Although details are still skeptical about what started the argument, the Twitter world had all type of rumors floating around as to why the two got into an argument. From rumors about a stolen iPod or iPad to arguing over a boy. Regardless as to why the two females had a disagreement, one is no longer with her family and it is a sad day at Bowie and the HBCU nation. Our thoughts and prayers are with BOTH families. Ron Artest Is Expected to Officially Change His Name to "Metta World Peace" Today

Ron Artest said this summer he was thinking about changing his name and after putting some thought to it, the Queensbridge representative will make it official today during a press conference. The ball player formerly know as ARTEST, will change his name to 'Metta World Peace'. 'Metta' is his official first name, which in Buddhist tradition means-loving-kindness and friendliness toward others and his last name will be 'World Peace'. You can't make this stuff up folks. So Sarah Palin apparently likes her coffee with no cream. Well I'm not sure, but reports are coming out about Palin and ex-NBA star Glen Rice having a bedroom romp (prior to her marriage) and also about Palin's past cocaine use. You can't make this stuff up folks. For more, read (here).

Estelle's single, "Break My Heart" was already a banger, but now there's a re-mix and a re-mix to the re-mix. Now if that haven't mixed you up any, then do believe that both of these remixes are the joint. Came across this 'interesting' first single from American Candy and they call it, "Get Some Black Friends". This song will make you laugh and most importantly will make one think. When I first heard it, I had to chuckle. How many Black people find themselves having friends who are white, but you are their only Black friend? 'Love is a Battlefield' as Pat Benatar once said and here Cee-Lo Green tells his tale of a broken promise of love. Cee Lo creative mind and energy is felt on this track and when I hear, my mind immediately wants a visual to accompany this track. After seeing the, "F*ck You" visual, one can only imagine what Cee Lo and his creative mind has for this track.

Out-Of-Work Parents Land In Jail, Because They Are Unable To Pay Child-Support

I came across this story and I found it ery interesting to say the least. Say what you want to say, but child support in this country is not fair. It hasn't been fair in this country for sometime. Now that doesn't mean child support isn't warranted, but in certain circumstances like the one in the video, how is this fair? its not to say that there aren't any deadbeats out there, we know that there are however, its too many good people who get caught in the mix and treated as deadbeats when they have a honest situation. The key thing to remember here is money doesn't equate to love. And a parent in jail or out of jail and looking for work with this on their record, makes it that much harder to be a provider. Again, I'm not speaking of the deadbeats and I'm not saying child support isn't warranted, I'm just saying the system is broken and needs to be fixed. The law needs to be just. 

Empire State of Mind State Farm Commercial for 9/11 Anniversary

When I saw this State Farm commercial yesterday during the games, I got goose bumps. One of my college friends even posted on my FB page, "After seeing that State farm commercial, it kinda makes me wish I was from New York". I think every New Yorker who saw this commercial yesterday almost dropped a tear. I know I almost did. Shouts out to Spike Lee who directed the commercial to give it that NY feel.

If you've heard Elzhi's Elmatic project, than I'm sure your ears gravitated to the sound outputs in awe of the live instrumentals to a classic Hip Hop joint. If I just described you, then you are not alone as the Will Sessions Band who accompanied Elzhi on the project are in heavy demand for an instrumental album. So when there's a demand, you got to give the people what they want. Here is the first single off of the project which is set to drop later on this month. We'll keep you posted as to when it drops.

Serena Williams Does It Again- Blows Up At Official in U.S. Open Loss

Okay, so Serena Williams blew up 'again' at an official during her match at the U.S. Open yesterday. This is just the spirit of a competitive athlete. Was she right? Well, you're never right when you loose control of your emotions. However, the same way we see coaches and baseball managers argue a call, to me it was just a discussion of disagreements. But this is tennis and in tennis, that behavior is shunned upon unlike other sports where disagreements are visually displayed. Maybe tennis should allow 'small' outbursts, just may make the game more interesting. Could you imagine if it was a clay court and Serena tried kicking clay on the official the way managers do it in baseball, that would be classic.

Man Thrown In Jail For Overdue Library Fines

What you gonna do when they come for you?'-Inner Circle Crime is heavy in Newton, Iowa and every crime is taken seriously ask Christopher Anspach, the 28-year-old man who was sentenced to 10 days in jail last week for failing to return overdue library books. Kelley Williams-Bolar, Woman Who Used Her Father's Address For Better School District, Not Pardoned

ST was one of the first internet bloggers outside of Ohio to report about the Kelley Williams-Bolar case. If by chance you are unfamiliar with the case, Williams-Bolar was the Akron, Ohio mother who was jailed for 9 days for sending her two children to school in a better neighborhood. The neighborhood where she sent her children, was the neighborhood of her father and the children's grandfather. The grandfather assisted Ms. Williams-Bolar with daily duties around his grandchildren like many grandparents. However, regardless of the fact that Ms. Williams-Bolar's father pays taxes in the community, the state of Ohio, felt Ms. Williams-Bolar needed to be made an example of. Well recently she went before the state's parole board and she was not pardoned. The parole board didn't appear to be empathetic and now organizations are asking the people to call the governor's office and ask for a pardon for Ms. Williams-Bolar. A French woman took her husband to court for lack of sex and won. The wife was seeking 'compensation for the lack of sex over a 21 year persiod' and the judge ruled in her favor. Yes, Really. Read more (here).
